Congressman David Schweikert Welcomes Arizona Vietnam Veteran Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, DCCongressman David Schweikert (AZ-06) welcomed veterans from Arizona to Washington, D.C. for the first Honor Flight Arizona to welcome veterans from the Vietnam War.

Congressman Schweikert met the veterans at the Air Force Memorial in Arlington for their first stop during their tour of seven military memorials throughout Washington, D.C. The group traveled to D.C. to visit each of the military memorials throughout the nation’s capital, as well as to remember and honor the fallen.

After visiting with the Arizona Veterans, Congressman Schweikert released the following statement:

“It was truly an honor to meet with these men and women who served our country with such bravery and courage during the Vietnam War. I hope each of them enjoy their time reflecting at each memorial and know that we are all very grateful for their service to our country during such a difficult time. During the visit, I had the honor of meeting with Thomas Collins III, a Prisoner of War for seven and a half years at the Hanoi Hilton in Vietnam. Mr. Collins reminds us all that we must never forget the battle of each POW during this horrific war, or those who did not return safely to their families. May God bless each of the brave men and women who have fought and are fighting to protect our country each and every day. Thank you all for including me in your visit to Washington, D.C.”
