Rep Schweikert added to Ways and Means Tax Policy Subcommittee
Rep. David Schweikert (R-Ariz.) got a slot on the Ways and Means Tax Policy Subcommittee today.
Republicans on the full committee met this morning to mete out new subcommittee assignments, a reshuffling that resulted from the recent resignation of former Rep. Pat Meehan (R-Pa.), who left Congress in the wake of sexual misconduct charges.
Schweikert, who's serving his fourth term in the House, was appointed to Ways and Means in January 2017.
There were no other changes to the tax subcommittee, which is chaired by Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-Fla.). Three of its nine current Republican members are leaving at the end of this Congress, though.
The newest GOP member on Ways and Means, Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio), filled openings on the panel's Oversight and Human Resources subcommittees.
