The U.S. Department of State remains committed to assisting U.S. Citizens depart the Middle East in the midst of the ongoing conflict. The State Department releases regular security updates at Middle East | Travel.State.gov, along with contact information for citizens in the Middle East to reach the 24/7 Consular Task Force in D.C. if additional assistance is needed.
Due to the fluctuating security situation, the Government of Israel has made the decision to limit departing flights to one flight per hour, with a maximum of 50 passengers per flight. American citizens wishing to depart via commercial flights should work directly with the airlines to check availability, but be aware space is very limited. For more immediate departure options citizens should consider the land borders with Egypt and Jordan. The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem is working with the U.S. Embassy in Jordan to facilitate bus service to the Amman, Jordan International Airport from Jerusalem and Tel Aviv via the Jordan River Sheikh Hussein crossing. Citizens wishing to register for this service can fill out the online form provided by the State Department at U.S. Embassy Bus to Jordan. Citizens should register now, as buses are not scheduled to depart beyond Tuesday, March 31st.
I and my staff continue to monitor the situation, and are ready to answer questions or provide assistance to citizens in the Middle East. Please contact my District Office staff at (480) 946-2411 for more information.
