WASHINGTON D.C. November 13, 2013 — Rep. David Schweikert (R-AZ) released the following statement reaction to numbers released today by the Obama Administration revealing that of the 106,185 people who have successfully enrolled in the Presidents health care plan, only 26,794 came through healthcare.gov:
“After three years and hundreds-of-millions of taxpayer dollars, all that we have to show for it are broken promises and an inaccessible website. The American people deserve better. Even the numbers released by HHS today don’t paint the full picture since the data includes people who haven’t completed the final payment process so even now we don’t know the real number of people who have successfully completed full enrollment.
“What’s disappointing is that the warning signs were there that healthcare.gov was not going to be ready and instead of doing the responsible thing and delaying the launch and the mandates, the President forged ahead and has now put the entire country in this untenable position of uncertainty and fear. Working American families are now paying the price for Washington’s incompetence. In any other situation, someone would be fired for this type of incompetence and negligence.
