Rep. Schweikert Announces High School Art Competition

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 

Scottsdale, Ariz., February 18, 2014—Rep. David Schweikert (R-AZ) announces the call for artwork submissions to the fourth annual Congressional Art Competition.  The contest is open to high school students in the 6th Congressional District.

2:30pm – 5:00pm

Since 1981, the Congressional Institute has sponsored a nationwide fine arts competition for high school students. The winning piece of artwork from Arizona’s 6th District will be displayed on the United States Capitol campus along with other Congressional winners for one year.

Second and third place pieces will be displayed in a prominent place in Schweikert’s Washington D.C. and District Offices.

Who: Students in Grades 9-12  who live or attend school in Congressional District 6
When: Art Submission Deadline — Wednesday, April 16, 2014,
from 2:30 pm-5:00pm
  Winner Reception — Saturday, April 26, 2014
from 10:00am-12:00pm
