WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman David Schweikert released the following statement after the House of Representatives passed a resolution to condemn “all hate.”
“Today, Democratic Leadership squandered an opportunity to oppose all forms of anti-Semitic statements and dog-whistle anti-Semitic tropes. The resolution presented today, after delays and pushback, was a watered-down attempt to oppose “all hate.” After Democratic Congresswomen argued American Jews have loyalty to a foreign country and a member of Democratic Leadership purposefully and consciously minimized Holocaust survivors, I find the resolution put forth falls far short of where it needed to be. We must condemn anti-Semitism because it is it the right thing to do.
I stand with the Jewish community and pro-Israel Americans in Arizona, and across the country, who have now faced disgusting anti-Semitic public remarks from a sitting Member of Congress. It is unimaginable that in 2019, in these halls of Congress, House Democrats are not addressing these continued, shameful statements by a member of their own party.” said Congressman David Schweikert
