Congressman Schweikert Announces Leticia Macias, U.S. Navy Veteran, Joins Scottsdale Office

WASHINGTON, DCCongressman David Schweikert (AZ-06) has announced the addition of Leticia (Lydia) Macias to his Scottsdale District Office to assist Arizona’s 6th District constituents with veteran casework issues. After the announcement, Schweikert and Macias released the following statements:

“We are very excited to have Lydia joining Team Schweikert as a Veterans Affairs Caseworker.” said Congressman Schweikert. “Her experience with the United States Navy brings a new strength to our constituent services team that helps Veterans with the hurdles they might be experiencing at the VA. Welcome to the team, Lydia!”

“As a Navy veteran, I’m thrilled to be working in a position to help other veterans” said Macias. “Since starting work, I’ve encountered a variety of problems that veterans must deal with regarding healthcare, education, and housing. But I’m learning a great deal of how to utilize the federal government to find a resolution to their problems.”

Background:

Prior to being hired to Schweikert’s office as a Veteran Affairs Caseworker, Lydia earned a Master of Healthcare Administration from Texas State University in 2005 and later served as a Navy Medical Service Corps officer from 2005 to 2013. She was assigned as a Supply Officer to Navy Hospital Camp Lejeune, then served as a Medical Operations & Plans analyst with 3rd Medical Battalion and Seventh Fleet assignments.

After serving in Reserve assignment, she completed a Master of Public Service and Administration from the Bush School of Government at Texas A&M University in 2018. Currently, in her role as a Veterans Affairs Caseworker, she works to help fellow veterans as a district representative.
