Joint Economic Committee Chairman Pat Tiberi (R-OH) today unveiled Main Street Economics, the first-ever podcast by committee Republicans. Participants will talk about ways to expand economic opportunity for American families.
“This podcast is a chance to dive a little deeper into some issues that are truly impacting lives on Main Street, like lowering the cost of health care, increasing job opportunities, creating a fairer, simpler tax code, and improving families’ abilities to get ahead,” said Chairman Tiberi. “Joint Economic Committee Republicans remain committed to promoting policies that can improve the lives of all Americans following the uneven economic recovery.”
The first episode, hosted by Chairman Tiberi, features Joint Economic Committee member Representative David Schweikert (R-AZ). They discuss lowering the cost of health insurance and separate myths from facts about coverage and risk pools. As a member of the Ways and Means Committee, Representative Schweikert wrote the provisions that add the invisible risk sharing program to the House-passed American Health Care Act. In addition, Chairman Tiberi asks Representative Schweikert about his role as the co-chairman of the Congressional Blockchain Caucus and the potential for Blockchain technology to improve secure transactions and recordkeeping.
Future podcasts will be released periodically. You can find Main Street Economics podcasts on iTunes, Blubrry, and get the feed here.
