Rep. Schweikert Calls for Spring Internship Applications

Scottsdale, Ariz., October 24, 2013—Rep.  David Schweikert (R-AZ) announces openings for full and part-time congressional internships in his Arizona and D.C. offices for the Spring 2014 term.

Undergraduate students seeking experience in a highly professional, fast-paced, hands-on environment should submit their applications by December 7, 2013.

Candidates should be motivated, detail-oriented, multi-tasking and service-oriented students looking to learn more about the civic responsibilities of a congressional office.

Strong ties to the sixth district of Arizona or the state of Arizona are preferred, but anyone is encouraged to apply. Priority is given to current college students although recent high school graduates with outstanding credentials. College credits are available per school requirements.

Responsibilities in the Arizona office include correspondence, constituent services research and assistance, event planning, and media assistance. Responsibilities in the D.C. office include answering the phone, giving tours of the Capitol, and assisting with correspondence.

Applicants should submit the following:

–               Cover letter

–               A resume with a title indicating the office and session of interest
               (i.e. John Smith—AZ Spring Intern Application)

–               Three letters of recommendation

–               A short writing sample for review.
