Washington, D.C. – Congressman David Schweikert (R-AZ) invites high school students in Arizona’s 5th District to participate in the 2012 Congressional High School Art Competition, “An Artistic Discovery.” Today he announced the details for the event.
Who: All interested 9 -12th grade students in Congressional District 5
What: 2012 Annual Congressional High School Arts Competition
When: Art collection occurs on Thursday, March 15th at 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. MST
Where: Arizona Art Alliance at their Scottsdale Pavilions gallery

The art contest is a part of a nationwide Congressional High School Art Competition sponsored by the Congressional Arts Caucus. This is an event to showcase the tremendous talent of our young high school artists.
The entries must be submitted to the Arizona Art Alliance in the Scottsdale Pavilions gallery on March 15th between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Winners will be announced at this same location at a reception on Saturday, March 24th at 10:00 a.m. All are invited to attend this event.
A panel of artists from the Arizona Art Alliance will choose three winners from the submitted pieces.
The winning piece of artwork from Arizona’s 5th District will be displayed on the United States Capitol campus along with other Congressional winners for one year. The runners up will be displayed in a prominent place in Rep. Schweikert’s Washington and District Offices.
