Washington, D.C. – Congressman David Schweikert (R-AZ) released the following statement today on the 3rd anniversary of the day President Obama’s so-called stimulus was signed into law:
“According to the CBO, the cost of the ‘stimulus’ so far has reached $825 billion with 90% of its effect already felt on the economy.
“That effect? The highest level of unemployment since the Great Depression and more than 23 million unemployed or underemployed Americans.
“There is no way to spin $825 billion worth of broken promises. President Obama may not be taking his fiscal responsibility seriously, but House Republicans are. We will continue passing waste-reducing jobs bills even if Harry Reid’s Senate refuses to take action.”
