REP. SCHWEIKERT REMEMBERS PEARL HARBOR DAY

Washington, D.C. – Congressman David Schweikert (R-AZ) made the following statement today in remembrance of Pearl Harbor Day:

“Seventy years ago, an attack on Pearl Harbor failed in its attempt to destroy the American spirit. Instead, out of the destruction and loss of life, emerged a resolve so strong it defeated fascism, Nazism, and imperial tyranny in six years.

“Pearl Harbor was an event that showed us the worst kind of evil in the world, but also gave us the very best by ushering in the Greatest Generation. We can never forget this generation that sacrificed so much for the freedom we enjoy today.

“What President Roosevelt said about America on December 8, 1941, still stands true today, ‘No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory.’”
