Washington, D.C. –Congressman David Schweikert (R-AZ) honored Arizona’s Christian Family Care for their outstanding advocacy in adoption issues. Tuesday’s award ceremony in Washington, D.C. is one of several events planned this week to honor more than 140 Angels in Adoption for their services to children and the community. Receiving the award from Rep. Schweikert was President and CEO Mark Upton.
“I understand firsthand the importance of adoption organizations and the services they provide, because I, too, was adopted. I have an unique appreciation for the angels who invest their lives in the orphaned and enrich lives of foster children and families in Arizona.
“Today, as we honor the Uptons and Christian Family Care for all the work they do in Phoenix and in Arizona, I remain grateful for those in the adoption community who continue to give children a home.”
BACKGROUND:
Angels in Adoption is a program hosted by the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI) that is dedicated to raising awareness for tens of thousands of children in need of a home in the U.S. They also promote adoption and support and encourage those individuals and agencies who dedicate themselves to that service.
