How can I get a copy of my military records (discharge, medical, etc.)?
Most military records are stored at the National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis, Missouri and can also be requested through the National Archives.
If you would like assistance in getting records from your military service, or that of a family member, feel free to contact my office. I will need your written authorization and a completed Request Pertaining to Military Records Form (SF 180) to help with this issue. To make that easier you can print the Privacy Release Form and a SF 180, and fax or mail the completed forms to my office.
How can I get the medals I was awarded during my service but never received?
Military medals are also an issue handled primarily through the National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis. However, it can be helpful to contact my office to get your medals.
If you need assistance obtaining a service medal, please fill out this Privacy Release Form and fax or mail it to my office. Once we receive this information from you, a caseworker on my staff will contact you regarding any additional documents that may be required for further inquiry.
How can I get my VA claim or appeal processed faster?
The Veterans Administration currently has many claims pending for various types of benefits. Because of that, many veterans feel that their case might be overlooked or handled improperly.
Although I am unable to directly expedite the processing of your claim or act as a representative on your behalf, I am always glad to help bring attention to your case. If you would like my help with a claim or appeal, please contact my veterans liaison at (480) 946-2411. After reviewing your concerns, my staff can obtain a status inquiry and update you on the progress of your case.
How do I know if I qualify for vocational rehabilitation and employment benefits?
The vocational rehabilitation and employment program is available only to veterans that have service-connected disability rating of 10 percent or higher. Please click here to find what level of vocational rehabilitation benefits you may qualify for.
