Reps. Schweikert, Hill, Foster, Chabot, Murphy, Veasey Launch Bipartisan House Entrepreneurship Caucus

WASHINGTON, D.C. — This week, Members of Congress launched the bipartisan House Entrepreneurship Caucus which will serve as a forum for policy discussions and collaboration to address the most pressing issues facing entrepreneurs throughout the country. The caucus will seek to analyze new business formation trends and form a wide-ranging strategy to boost entrepreneurship growth, ensuring new business ventures continue to create jobs and drive innovation.

The House Entrepreneurship Caucus will be led by Co-Chairs Congressman David Schweikert (R-AZ), Congressman French Hill (R-AR), Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL), Congressman Steve Chabot (R-OH), Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy (D-FL), and Congressman Marc Veasey (D-TX).

“Entrepreneurs across the country are creating jobs that are helping grow our economy. While Arizona has been a great place for businesses to grow, there are still many barriers that entrepreneurs face when they first enter the marketplace,” said Congressman David Schweikert (R-AZ). “I am pleased to become a Co-Chair of the Entrepreneurship Caucus and work with my colleagues to help business owners across the country tackle these barriers and find the resources they need in order to turn their ideas into successful businesses that serve our communities.”

“Entrepreneurship is the engine that drives our economy forward,” said Congressman French Hill. “As an entrepreneur and job creator, I know how difficult it can be to get a business off the ground. Having effective policies in place to encourage innovation can make all of the difference during the ‘startup slump’ that many entrepreneurs face during the first years of a new endeavor. Supporting small business owners is a mission that should not be partisan. I’m pleased to partner with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle as Co-chair of the Entrepreneurship Caucus to accomplish this goal. I look forward to promoting strategies and new policies that create an environment where entrepreneurs can thrive.”

“Entrepreneurship and the new businesses that spring from it fuel the economic growth of our nation and play a vital role in strengthening our communities and providing jobs,” said Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL). “As someone who knows what it takes to start and grow a business from scratch, I am proud to co-chair the bipartisan House Entrepreneurship Caucus and I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to stimulate innovation and create an economic environment that encourages people to bring new ideas to life.”

“Entrepreneurship drives our economy and provides millions of jobs across the country. Yet too often, entrepreneurs face substantial hurdles to establishing and running their businesses,” said Congressman Steve Chabot (R-OH). “I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle in the House Entrepreneurship Caucus to spur innovation, provide resources for small business owners, and foster job creation.”

“For decades, American startups and small businesses have paved the way for significant innovation and job creation and it is critical that we continue to foster an environment that helps entrepreneurs succeed,” said Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy (D-FL). “I am honored to join my colleagues in leading this bipartisan caucus to promote policies that support entrepreneurs and small business owners as they continue to power our economy in central Florida and across the country.”

“The bipartisan Entrepreneurship Caucus will address the most pressing problems that small businesses and entrepreneurs across our country face,” said Congressman Marc Veasey (D-TX). “As a member of the Committee on Small Business, I know that the continued support of small businesses and entrepreneurs will help our nation lead in innovation and fuel our economic success.”
