SCOTTSDALE, AZ – Today, Congressman David Schweikert (AZ-06) hosted a roundtable with leaders in the agriculture industry to discuss the ways that Congress and the Department of Agriculture can promote the awareness and opportunities biotechnology has in agriculture.

“We are continuing to see new technologies come to market that can provide efficient and cost-effective growth for our society. Today we were able to discuss the positive development of biotechnology already in practice across the state. It is important that we continue to promote technologies that will create solutions for changing climate and growing population,” said Congressman Schweikert.

Agriculture in Arizona is a diverse, year-round, 23-billion-dollar industry, and advances in biotechnology will ensure we can continue to meet the needs of a growing population in a drier climate.
