Washington, D.C. – Congressman David Schweikert, a member of the House Committee on Financial Services, made the following statement after the announcement of his subcommittee assignments for the 112th Congress:
“I am more than honored to be one of fourteen freshman members chosen to serve under Chairman Bachus on the House Financial Services Committee. I am ready to get to work addressing the important issues of finding pro-growth, free market market solutions to the foreclosure problem and identifying policies that will unleash America’s entrepreneurial spirit.
“As the former Treasurer of Maricopa County and real estate business owner, I understand how important it is to address nationwide foreclosures. Removing barriers to growth and prosperity in our housing finance system are a top priority. Americans deserve fewer hassles, more choice, and free markets.”
Rep. Schweikert will serve as Vice Chairman of the Subcommittee on Capital Markets and Government Sponsored Enterprises, under Subcommittee Chairman Scott Garrett. Schweikert will also serve on the Subcommittee on Domestic Monetary Policy and Technology under Subcommittee Chairman Ron Paul.
