Arizonan’s Story Prompts Rep. David Schweikert to Support Passage
of Keep Your Health Plan Act

New Data:  Only 739 Arizonans Enroll in President’s Plan

WASHINGTON D.C. November 15, 2013 – Rep. David Schweikert (R-AZ) today joined with 261 members of the House to successfully pass H.R. 3350, the Keep Your Health Plan Act.  As a result of the President’s health care plan, millions of Americans like Lee Leons of Phoenix have received notifications that as a result of the President’s health care plan, they are being dropped from their current health care plan.  The Keep Your Health Plan Act allows plans available on the individual market today to be offered next year.

“Working Americans like Lee are facing the impossible scenario of choosing between skyrocketing premiums under the President’s health care plan or taking the risk of going without insurance,” said Rep. Schweikert.  “It’s clear now that the President cannot be trusted but that should not stop Democrats from joining with Republicans to do the right thing for people like Lee and demand that the Senate and the President take action and support the Keep Your Health Plan Act.

“In Arizona, the Obama Administration had projected 7,770 enrollees, but we learned this week that there were only 739,” added Rep. Schweikert.  “Even when they manipulate the data, the results are still abysmal.  The fact is they knew this would happen, that millions of Americans would be exposed to this debacle and they still let it happen.  How can anyone trust anything this Administration tells them – I don’t.”

Documents released today by a Congressional Oversight Committee exposed that in July, project managers inside the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) were voicing serious concerns about the status of HealthCare.gov.
