WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman David Schweikert (AZ-06) released the following statement applauding schools in Arizona’s 6th District that have re-opened for in-person learning.
“I am very pleased to see the majority of schools in my district have returned to in-person learning. This has been months overdue, and I applaud our local school district leadership for working to make this possible. As a father of a 5 year old, I know the difficulties remote learning has placed on children, parents, and teachers over the last year. In-person learning is critical for mental health and educational development. We have seen too many students falling behind, and in some cases, students developing mental and health illnesses from remote learning. I am continuing to fight for in-person learning to resume throughout the rest of the country, and hope more states will soon begin to follow in Arizona’s footsteps.”
