National Taxpayers Union Recognizes Congressman Schweikert for 2020 “Taxpayers’ Friend Award”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman David Schweikert (AZ-06) released the following statement after being recognized by the National Taxpayers Union for having a strong voting record while serving in Congress promoting limited government, economic freedom, and low taxes.

“I am pleased to be recognized by the National Taxpayers Union for my voting record,” said Congressman Schweikert. “After a challenging year for our country, it is more important than ever that we work to protect the pro-growth policies Republicans put forth to cut taxes, helping create record economic growth, and reduce the size of our government. I look forward to continuing to advocate for sound policy solutions that support Americans’ economic freedom and limited government.”

“The pandemic created unprecedented challenges for our nation — and for taxpayers,” said Pete Sepp, President of NTU. “Despite these difficult circumstances, taxpayers should know that Rep. Schweikert continued to support fiscal discipline and responsible governance. Now more than ever, we need leaders like Rep. Schweikert to get our nation’s finances back in order and help restore our prosperity. National Taxpayers Union thanks Rep. Schweikert for his efforts on behalf of the people who pay government’s bills.”
