Scottsdale, Ariz. – Over 700 job seekers attended a job fair Friday hosted by Congressman David Schweikert (R-AZ) at Scottsdale Community College. Nearly 50 local businesses, offering hundreds of job openings, had an opportunity to meet one-on-one with job seekers. Congressman Schweikert issued the following comment after the successful job fair:
“I am ecstatic by the turnout of our job fair. Our goal was to connect local businesses and employers with qualified job seekers. I believed we accomplished that.
“I especially want to thank the businesses who came out to meet with potential employees and the instructors who led the workshops. Both workshops were standing room only, and the job fair was also packed. Their participation and hard work to make this event possible is greatly appreciated.
“I firmly believe that Arizona is a great place for business, and I am continued to making sure it remains that way.”
On Friday, attendees met with local businesses and received tips from experts on effective job searching skills, resume writing, and interviewing techniques. Schweikert’s job fair offered employment opportunities in a variety of fields including banking, technology, retail, and healthcare.
